Tavola Strategy Group provides strategic leadership, communications and public engagement advice and horsepower to provincial, municipal and educational institutions across Western Canada.

With experience in a diverse range of areas including infrastructure and environment, economic development, regulatory and policy matters, organizational issues and crisis, land development, customer service models, our passion and focus zeroes in on organizational culture and the internal staff/external customer relationship that is a key, and often overlooked, lever for successful implementation.

Katie Hamilton, Principal

Katie is a recognized senior leader and strategic communicator. Her professional interest is helping public serving organizations change how they do business, how they involve their communities, and how they engage their staff in creating cultures that support positive change and deliver high value services.

Katie is an ambassador for positive change, with a leadership style that is team-based and collaborative. She naturally challenges the status quo, rolls up her sleeves to solve problems and helps great ideas come to life. She’s known as being calm in a storm, a strategic thinker, customer focused, and practical.

She is proven in her ability to build relationships and lead teams, review and develop transformative organizational systems and standards for reporting, customer service, communications, and public engagement.

Prior to management consulting, Katie worked as a senior leader within and with public sector organizations for over 15 years, leading broad service areas including strategic and operational planning, communications and citizen engagement, including open government initiatives and media relations.

A natural team player with a dry sense of humour, Charlie is often the first to welcome you to the Tavola office.

He is responsible for warming the feet and hearts of all who visit and provides a constant reminder to take breaks throughout the day.
